Mini Ben, 2004
Owned by Betty Leichus
Top Fund Raiser, Silent Auction Benefit, Maclay School,
Tallahassee, FL 2004
When we added on to our house, we designed it around my sweetheart’s
favorite tree. To prove we couldn’t cut it down, he even named it!
This is my interpretation of Ben. The live oaks in Florida are simultaneously
beautiful and depressing. I love how this quilt turned out but must admit
that I was glad when I finished it as I was really tired of working with
all those dark, gloomy colors.
This piece was done largely with the Baby Lock Embellisher.
There is also thread work on water soluble stabilizer, direct dying, tea
dying, and beading.
